Game Instructions
The goal of Pirate Passage is to reach the “X” marked treasure island while avoiding collisions with pirate ships. Draw a path, by clicking (or tapping) on a square, for your ship (the orange ship with the star) one square at a time to reach the island. Be sure to avoid collisions with pirate ships, though! You cannot venture into uncharted water (which are outside the squares), and you cannot move diagonally. One or more pirate ships patrol the seas along color-coded paths; some pirate ships may loop, while others may move back and forth along a line.
An attempt fails if you bump into a pirate ship and succeeds if you reach the treasure. After you trace your path all the way to the island, select Go to watch your ship move along your path. Select Undo to delete a segment of the path if you want to revise the route before selecting Go. You may need to double back between squares in order to avoid pirate ships.
You can review instructions for any of our games at any time. Simply click on the question mark (?) at the bottom of the game screen (located next to the pause (II) button.) A pop-up appears asking if you want to learn how to play.
If you’re playing on our app, then tap the question mark (?) to the left of the Play button before starting. Or, during the game, just tap pause (II) at the top-left of the screen and then tap How To Play from the menu that appears.
Scoring & Levels
Your score and level increases the fewer moves (squares traversed) you make. You earn more points when playing on higher levels. You have two chances to reach the island. You earn fewer points on the second attempt. Each trial has an optimal path and you receive a bonus for finding this optimal path. Speed is not a factor, so you can take your time to plan out the route you want to take!
