Games don't load on Firefox. What do I do?

Having trouble with our new HTML5 games? See our HTML5 FAQ.

Firefox may block older versions of Flash, so you will need to update Flash to load games on Firefox. After updating, you may need to enable Flash. Alternatively, you can use Chrome, which updates Flash automatically.

Download & Install Flash

Please download the latest version of Flash from Adobe’s website, then install the new version.

If you are having trouble installing Flash, check out these troubleshooting tips from Adobe.

You may also want to try restarting your computer.

Once Flash is installed, you will need to make sure it is enabled:

Enable Flash

  1. Click on the menu (≡) in the upper right-hand corner and select Add-ons. A new browser tab will appear.
  2. Select Plugins on the left-hand side, then scroll down until you see Shockwave Flash.
  3. Check that Shockwave is set to Always Activate or Enable.
  4. Go back to and try reloading the games.

Still having trouble loading games with Flash enabled?

If you have further trouble, please try using Lumosity in Safe Mode, which will have any Flash-blocking extensions disabled. To open Firefox in Safe Mode:

  1. Click on the menu (≡) in the upper right-hand corner, select the Help menu  and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
  2. Firefox will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog. Click Start in Safe Mode. This will open a new browser window.
  3. Go back to and try reloading the games.
    See detailed instructions.
